The 2007 season will see a new establishment come to Dinner Plain, Molony’s Pizza and Bar. The name comes with new owners Doug and Jo McDougall (Molony’s is Jo’s family name) who are continuing a long held tradition with various businesses operating by the family under that name since the opening of Molony’s Shoe Store in Melbourne in 1854. Including Molony’s Ski Hire in Dinner Plain, the village co-founded by Jo’s father in the early eighties. Jo and Doug bring a fresh vision for comfortable and top class hospitality in this cosy venue. They have employed industry professionals from around Australia to be your hosts and with a wealth of experience behind them, they are sure to make your dining experience an enjoyable and unforgettable one. Restaurant manager and Maitre’D Tennille Chalmers has spent her formative years in fine dining establishments across Australia. With world class restaurants Sassi Cucina, Port Douglas and Oyster Little Bourke, Melbourne among her credits, she also managed the Avoca Paddlesteamer restaurant for Celebrity Cook Stefano de Pieri in Mildura, Victoria. Chef Garry Bronca, originally from South East SA trained in Adelaide then took his skills straight up north where he worked at Sassi Cucina with renowned chef Tony Sassi developing his flair for classic Italian simplicity with a twist of modern Australian. In the last year he has been executive chef for Tapas Bar in Port Douglas where he perfected his pizza prowess with a Napoli native and developed tapas dishes to die for. |
